Paul Marshall: Founder, Chairman and CEO, Marshall Wace
Marshall graduated in History and Modern Languages from St John's College, Oxford. He later completed his MBA at INSEAD.
After leaving INSEAD, Marshall joined SG Warburg & Co's fund management subsidiary Mercury Asset Management and eventually became CIO for European Equities there.
With his partner Ian Wace, Marshall then went on to found one of Europe's leading hedge fund groups, Marshall Wace.
Marshall is a co-founder of ARK - Absolute Return for Kids - an educational charity and one of the UK's top performing academy operators. Marshall is the Chairman of the ARK Schools Board of Trustees and the chair of governors at ARK Globe Academy. He is also a founder trustee of the charity Every Child a Chance, a trust that aims to unlock the educational potential of socially disadvantaged children through the development and promotion of evidence-based, early intervention programmes.
He is also Chairman of CentreForum, the Liberal think tank which was launched in 2005. He is the author of “Tackling Educational Inequality” (2007) and co-author of “Aiming Higher: a better future for England’s schools” (2006).
