Chris Hohn: Founder, The Children's Investment Fund

Chris Hohn founded The Children's Investment Fund (TCI), a London-based hedge fund, in 2003.

Hohn is the son of a Jamaican car mechanic, who emigrated to Britain in the 1960s.  He graduated from Southampton University and later earned an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Hohn is known for his charitable endeavours.  He established the Children's Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF) with his wife Jamie.  The foundation provides funding for projects focused on child survival, hunger alleviation, early childhood development, and educational achievement primarily in Sub Saharan Africa and India.

According to the foundation's website, "The Children’s Investment Fund Foundation aims to demonstrably improve the lives of children living in poverty in developing countries by achieving large scale and sustainable impact."
